Ready to Find a New Best Friend?
Choosing to add a pet to your family is a big decision. Pets add lots of laughter and fun to our lives, but they are also a big responsibility. Sometimes adopting a pet may be too much of a commitment if other life-changes are occurring at the same time. We take great care to make sure our animals find a loving, forever home. Take our “Ready to Find a New Best Friend Quiz” to see if this is a good time to add a pet to your family.
Upcoming Events
5/3/2014    Run or Dye 5K Event
Ford Park

Beaumont, TX
 -

Run or Dye, the world's most colorful 5K, is headed to Ford Park on May 3, 2014. Bring all your friends and run a color-blasted 5K, where you get showered in safe, eco-friendly, plant-based cornstarch dye every kilometer. Then enjoy a world-famous Dye Festival afterward, where you can Tie-Dye the Sky (not to mention all your friends!) in this ultimate celebration of life, friendship, fitness, and fun. The Humane Society is a benefitting charity for this event. We need volunteers and runners! Please check the web site: www.runordye.com then click on Beaumont, TX. If you can help us out by volunteering or running, please call Audine Rathbun, the Humane Society volunteer coordinator, at 409-833-0504.
5/31/2014    Microchip Clinic   event map
Humane Society of Southeast Texas
2050 Spindletop Road
Beaumont
Noon - 3:00 p.m.

What a deal! Come on by the Humane Society on May 31 and get your pet family members microchipped for $25 each. Microchipping is a wonderful way to help re-unite a lost pet with the owner and a way to provide proof of ownership in case a pet is stolen. You may not think your dog or cat would ever get away from you by becoming lost or stolen. But it happens every day (and has happened to me). With hurricane season approaching, now is the absolute perfect time to insure you don't lose a beloved pet by having him/her microchipped. And, you can't beat the price - $25/each (vs. double that amount or more at local veterinarian offices). Is your pet microchipped? If not, we greatly recommend that you do so. It will only take a few minutes. (Cost includes registration and tag for your dog or cat's collar.)
6/7/2014    Bringing Back Memories Car Show   event map
Beaumont Civic Center
701 Main Street
Beaumont
8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

This wonderful car show is an annual event, and the wonderful organizers have, once again, selected the Humane Society of Southeast Texas animals to be the beneficiaries of funds raised in excess of expenses. Come on out to the Beaumont Civic Center and you will truly LOVE looking at all of the older (and newer) cars and trucks. If you would like to volunteer with us, we sure do need volunteers that day to help care for the various dogs brought from the shelter. (Yes, the dogs love the cars and trucks, too!) Volunteers will walk the dogs and help care for the dogs in other ways. Volunteers will also answer questions about the shelter and various animals awaiting their forever home.
6/14/2014    Art Auction   event map
Beaumont Art League
2675 Gulf Avenue
Beaumont
7:00 p.m. - Until

A joint Animal Art Show and Auction benefitting the Humane Society of Southeast Texas and the Beaumont Art League will be held June 14, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. "until" it is over. Volunteers are needed to help with the registration of silent auction items, keeping food stables stocked, milling through the crowd answering questions, and helping with the live auction. Attendees are GREATLY needed to come, eat, enjoy, and support these two organizations by making a special purchase. Come have some fun and help these two special organizations!
